Rapeseed Shlyager

Genetic Potential and Morphology

The winter rapeseed variety "Shlyager," developed by the NSC "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS," represents a breeding approach focused on maximizing the vegetation period. With a plant height reaching 200 cm, it allows for the formation of a significant leaf surface area and a robust plant architecture under optimized crop management.

Technical Adaptability

The key advantage of this variety is its responsiveness to the agro-background. Unlike narrow-specialized hybrids, "Shlyager" demonstrates stability under the temperature fluctuations typical of the Ukrainian climate. Its tall stem requires the application of growth regulators during the autumn-spring period, which is critical to prevent lodging and ensure uniform pod ripening.

• Root System: A well-developed root neck ensures efficient moisture uptake from lower soil horizons, enhancing drought resistance during critical development phases.
• Biomass: The tall-growing plant type provides not only seed productivity but also a substantial yield of organic matter, improving soil structure when incorporating crop residues.
• Yield Potential: The institute's genetics are aimed at forming a high number of pods on lateral branches, which, when observing the recommended seeding rate, compensates for potential stand thinning.

Practical application of the variety proves its efficiency on medium and heavy loams, where it can maximize its tillering potential. Using "Shlyager" is justified for farms focused on yield stability while adhering to standard winter rapeseed cultivation technological maps.
