Rapeseed POPULAR

German precision in rapeseed breeding

The «Popular» variety from the renowned German breeder Deutsche Saatveredelung (DSV) represents a reliable open-pollinated winter rapeseed, valued for its consistency and predictable performance. Unlike high-intensity hybrids, «Popular» is favored by agronomists who prioritize stability across varying soil and climatic conditions, making it a cornerstone of efficient farming systems.

Resilience and phytosanitary strength

A distinctive feature of this DSV selection is its genetic tolerance to Verticillium wilt, a pathogen capable of significantly degrading crop yields and overall plant health. Developed by an expert team at Deutsche Saatveredelung — including Karsten Oertel, Detlef Hauska, and Heinrich Busch — this variety addresses the critical need for disease resistance. By integrating genetic defense against Verticillium, «Popular» helps farmers reduce risks associated with vascular diseases without compromising development capacity.
