Rapeseed Compass

Stability and Oil Content: The Core of Success

Winter rapeseed variety "Kommpass" from the German breeding house Deutsche Saatveredelung is designed for professionals focusing on high-yield output under intensive farming conditions. As a population variety, it offers excellent stability and uniformity, making it a reliable choice to achieve a yield potential of 60–70 dt/ha.

Biological Defense Against Field Threats

The practical value of "Kommpass" lies in its robust health profile. The breeders at DSV specifically targeted resistance against two of the most damaging diseases in rapeseed production: Verticillium wilt and Sclerotinia. By choosing this variety, farmers can significantly mitigate the risk of hidden yield losses that often occur just before harvest, ensuring that the crop remains healthy and productive through the entire growth cycle.

Economic Advantages in the Field

"Kommpass" proves its worth in farms with precise cultivation management:

• High Oil Content: With a range of 50–55%, the seeds command a premium price at the processing stage, enhancing the farm’s overall profitability.
• Harvestability: The variety exhibits strong lodging resistance, ensuring even ripening and minimal losses during combine harvesting.
• Vigorous Growth: Known for strong spring regeneration, the variety forms a dense canopy quickly, which is a key advantage for weed suppression and soil moisture retention.

Using "Kommpass" is a strategy to ensure high-quality rapeseed production with predictable input costs. It is a resilient, performance-driven variety that consistently delivers under professional agronomic care.
