Rapeseed Bogota

German precision in winter oilseed rape: Bogota by DSV

Selecting a hybrid is a balance between yield potential and operational risk. The Bogota winter oilseed rape, developed by Deutsche Saatveredelung (DSV), is engineered to address the primary threats in intensive farming: pathogen pressure and climatic instability. As a simple line hybrid, it offers consistency that many high-input operations demand.

Why Bogota stands out in the field

The primary advantage of Bogota lies in its multi-level tolerance against major fungal diseases. Phoma, Verticillium, and Sclerotinia are yield thieves that can cut performance by up to 30%. Bogota's genetic resilience allows the plant to channel its energy into biomass and oil accumulation rather than defense, ensuring a healthier and more robust crop.

Technical specifications

• Yield potential: 60–70 dt/ha when cultivated under optimal intensive management systems.
• Oil content: 45–50%, meeting the high-quality requirements of modern processing plants.
• Morphology: Plant height of 160–170 cm, which ensures a balanced architectural structure that minimizes harvest losses during combine operations.
• Seeding density: Recommended at 400,000 seeds per hectare to optimize branch development and canopy management.

Who should choose Bogota

Bogota is best suited for farms that invest in intensive soil nutrition and professional plant protection. It displays high plasticity, adapting well to various European environments. While the hybrid is highly resilient, realizing its 70 dt/ha potential requires strategic management of micronutrients and careful adherence to seeding density to avoid overcrowding. If your goal is a predictable, high-yield result with minimized fungal-related losses, this DSV hybrid is an essential asset for your portfolio.
