Description ALZZA
ALZZA is a winter rapeseed hybrid distinguished by its high frost hardiness and adaptation to severe climatic conditions. The hybrid was developed in Canada, where winters are significantly colder, ensuring its resistance to frost down to -32 degrees and its ability to withstand snowless winters without yield reduction. Plants reach heights of up to 170 cm, belong to an early-maturing group, and have a vegetation period of approximately 300–305 days, allowing for effective use across various agro-climatic zones. The ALZZA hybrid possesses genetic resistance to cabbage clubroot, which significantly reduces yield losses when this disease spreads. Additionally, it demonstrates high tolerance to verticillium wilt, cylindrical sporiosis, and phoma, as well as resistance to blackleg and other diseases. A feature of the hybrid is its genetic resistance to pod splitting and shattering, which helps maintain seed quality and quantity during harvesting. High resistance to lodging is also noted, which facilitates agricultural operations and reduces yield loss risks. ALZZA is characterized by a high yield potential of up to 72 c/ha, with an average yield of around 56 c/ha. Seed oil content reaches 48.2%, while glucosinolate levels are low—less than 15 mmol/g, and erucic acid content is minimal (0–0.2%), making the oil higher quality and safer for use. The recommended sowing rate is 350–450 thousand seeds per hectare. The hybrid is also resistant to herbicide processing, including isopropylamine salt of glyphosate, which facilitates crop protection from weeds and enhances agricultural technology efficiency.
