Izolda

Hard winter wheat 'Izolda' is a high-yielding variety recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions. This variety belongs to the medium-height type and is distinguished by its resistance to drought, lodging, brown rust, and powdery mildew. The vegetation period ranges from 90 to 120 days, making it medium-early maturing. Plant height varies from 95 to 115 cm, and resistance to lodging and shattering is rated 9 points, ensuring reliable harvests.

The 'Izolda' variety is characterized by a high yield potential — up to 6 tons per hectare, with a 1000-grain weight of 45–50 grams and a test weight of 800 g/L. The grain has high transparency (98%), indicating its quality. An important feature is the high content of raw gluten (36–39%) and protein (16.6%), making this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour and bakery products.

For successful cultivation, early sowing with a seeding rate of approximately 6 million viable seeds per hectare or 180–220 kg/ha is recommended, with seed depth of 3–5 cm. The variety responds well to fertilizer application, effectively utilizing their residual effects. 'Izolda' was registered in 2004 and is widely used as seed material for producing winter wheat in the aforementioned regions.
