Diana

The winter-hardy wheat variety Diana, registered in 2015, is high-yielding and drought-resistant, as well as resistant to lodging and major diseases such as powdery mildew, brown rust, septoria, and fusarium of the head. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions, ensuring stable yields even under challenging climatic conditions. The grain density is 800 g/l, kernel hardness is 98%, and protein content is 15.6%, making it valuable for producing high-quality grain.

Diana belongs to a semi-intensive cultivation type and responds well to application of mineral and microfertilizers, which helps increase yield. The recommended sowing rate is 6 million seeds per hectare, and the optimal seed depth is 3-5 cm; in dry regions, sowing depth may be increased to 4-6 cm with subsequent covering to better retain moisture.

The variety was developed by the Myronivs'k Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and has proven itself as a stable and productive option for farmers. Over the last three years, yields on the fields of the "Peremoga" LLC amounted to 50.1 centners per hectare, confirming the variety's effectiveness in practical application.
