Avinion

Avinion — ultra-early, awnless winter wheat variety developed by the French company Limagrain. It is characterized by high protein (12.5%) and gluten (23%) content, making it valuable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is adapted to various climatic zones in Ukraine, including steppes, forest-steppe, and lowland areas, and shows average yields ranging from 7.1 to 10.2 tons per hectare depending on the region.

Avinion wheat exhibits high drought resistance, vigorous tillering, stem strength, and resistance to lodging, ensuring stable growth and grain retention. Plants reach a height of 60-70 cm, and 1000-grain weight is 46-48 grams. For optimal sowing, the recommended seeding rate is 3.7 to 5 million seeds per hectare, depending on sowing timing.

Growing the Avinion variety requires proper agronomic practices, including soil preparation, use of quality seeds, and timely fertilizer application. Fertilizing winter wheat with granulated nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers promotes healthy plant development and increases yield. Monitoring crop growth and proper field care ensure high-quality grain and stable yields.
