Wheat variety Avenue — an ultrapreearly, glumeless, and semi-dwarf winter wheat variety for food use, developed by the French company Limagrain. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 9-12 tons per hectare, and is ideally suited for cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and prairie climatic zones, including regions of Ukraine such as Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipro, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv. Recommended sowing dates — from September 15 to October 5, with seeding rates ranging from 3.7 to 5.0 million seeds per hectare depending on sowing time. Avenue exhibits high drought resistance, winter hardiness, and tolerance to major diseases, including powdery mildew, septoria, Fusarium head blight, and root rots. The variety shows high resistance to lodging, stem breakage, and grain shattering, ensuring stable yields and product quality. Plant height is 60-70 cm, thousand-grain weight is 46-48 g, indicating large kernel size and high seed quality. The grain quality of the Avenue variety is high: protein content reaches 12.5%, gluten content is approximately 23-27%, providing good baking properties. Grain density is 827 g/l, falling number is 333, confirming high technological performance. The variety has good tillering and regenerative capacity, prefers fertile soils and optimal preceding crops, such as winter rapeseed and intercrops. Thanks to its agronomic and quality characteristics, Avenue is a reliable choice for obtaining high-quality food-grade wheat.
