Description Altigo
Wheat variety Altigo is an early-maturing, short-stemmed, and awned bread wheat variety developed in France. This high-yielding variety belongs to the early maturing group and is characterized by high thousand-grain weight, which contributes to good germination and plant development. Altigo has medium protein content and medium falling number, ensuring good baking qualities of the grain. Sowing periods vary from early to late, and the recommended seeding rate ranges from 3.5 to 5.0 million seeds per hectare.

The variety exhibits high resistance to drought and diseases, including genetic resistance to the pest Stripe Rust (Puccinia striiformis). It tolerates dense sowing well and has medium tillering ability. High resistance to lodging and winter hardiness make Altigo a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. On the disease resistance scale, the variety scores high: leaf septoria, yellow and brown rust, Fusarium head blight, and powdery mildew are rated 7–8 out of 9.

Altigo is recommended for cultivation in the Polesie, Forest Steppe, and Northern Steppe regions, as well as in Ukrainian regions such as Ivano-Frankivska, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipro, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytsia, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv. Due to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability to various conditions, this variety is an excellent choice for obtaining high yields of quality wheat.
