Toro sunflower is an ultra-early oleic hybrid with a vegetation period of approximately 105-112 days, developed for efficient cultivation in various climatic conditions across Ukraine, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe. This hybrid exhibits high adaptability to different soil types and drought resistance, ensured by its robust root system and resistance to lodging. Plants reach a height of 160-175 cm and feature a semi-convex head with a diameter of 20-24 cm, promoting good yield formation.
The Toro hybrid has a high yield potential of up to 50 centners per hectare at the recommended planting density of 55-60 thousand plants per hectare. Oil content in the seeds is 50-51%, with a high level of oleic acid, making the oil more valuable and in demand. Due to its herbicide resistance, particularly to the Granstar technology, the hybrid enables effective weed control without harming the crop.
Special attention has been given to the hybrid's resistance to major diseases and stress factors. Toro shows high resistance to 7+ races of downy mildew, false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomoz, white and gray mold, as well as diseases such as rust, verticillium wilt, and sclerotinia. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits good resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions.
