The hybrid sunflower Olympia belongs to mid-early maturing varieties with high yield potential and improved oil quality. Plants reach a height of 150 to 175 cm, have medium-sized green leaves with slight blistering and moderate toothed edges. Flowers are tubular, orange-colored with anthocyanin pigmentation on the stigma, and are narrowly oval-shaped. The flower head is medium-sized, semi-downward turned, with narrowly oval-shaped seeds having a dark base color and distinct gray stripes. The hybrid is characterized by the absence of branching and moderate hairiness on the upper part of the stem. Olympia has high oil content in seeds — 50–52%, with elevated oleic acid levels exceeding 85%, providing improved oil stability against oxidation even under unfavorable harvesting and storage conditions. Oil content in seeds reaches 45.9%, with an average oil yield of about 10.2 c/ha. According to manufacturer data, the hybrid's yield potential reaches 40 c/ha, while average yields in cultivation regions amount to about 20.5 c/ha, with maximum yields reaching up to 34 c/ha. The hybrid Olympia is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including forest-steppe, North Caucasus, Central Chernozem, Lower Volga, Middle Volga, and Ural regions. It possesses genetic resistance to downy mildew (LMR), moderate resistance to downy mildew and white mold, making it a reliable choice for farmers. The recommended planting density at harvest time is 50–55 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to achieving optimal yield and quality of oil.
