Description

Cavalier pepper is an early-maturing plant with a semi-spreading bush up to 60 cm tall, covered with green leaves having slight wrinkling. This variety is resistant to most diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including harsh climates. Cavalier is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, preferring sunny areas with light, fertile, neutral soils.

Cavalier pepper fruits have a classic conical shape and an average weight of about 77-80 g, with individual specimens reaching up to 200 g. In technical maturity, they have a greenish-white color, while in biological maturity, they turn into a glossy deep purple-red. The fruit wall thickness is 4.5-4.9 mm, and the flesh is very juicy and aromatic, making the pepper ideal for fresh consumption, salads, various dishes, and winter preservation. The dense fruit skin ensures good transportability.

The Cavalier variety is grown using seedlings: seeds are sown in February into seed trays with soil mix at a depth of no more than 1 cm, at a temperature of 23-25°С. Seedlings are transplanted into open ground at the beginning of June with a spacing of 40x40 cm. The plant prefers infrequent but abundant watering with warm water and responds well to nitrogen fertilizers. The yield of this variety ranges from 170 to 299 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity and adaptability.
