This variety was obtained at the Donetsk branch of the Institute of Horticulture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (UAAAN) by crossing the varieties Donchanka x Valeriy Chkalov. It was introduced into the State Register in 2000 for the North Caucasus region.
The tree is vigorous. The crown is broadly rounded, spherical, of medium density. Shoots are thick, straight, brownish-brown, bare. Leaves are large, elongated, green, with serrated-toothed margins.
Fruits are large, weighing 9-10 g, round, slightly flattened, dark red, with dense flesh, dessert flavor, which is retained under any weather conditions. The stone is medium-sized, round, easily separates from the flesh. The peduncle is of medium length and thickness, with dry detachment even in underripe fruits. Sensory evaluation score: 4.8 points. The fruits contain 25.4% dry matter, 10.4% sugars, 0.7% acids, and 7 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
This is a universal variety of medium ripening period. Yield: 75 centners/ha. Winter hardiness is above average. Disease resistance is medium; susceptible to coccomycosis.
Advantages of the variety: high frost and drought resistance of the tree, dessert flavor of the fruits.
Disadvantages: some reduction in drought resistance of the stigmas on eastern slopes.
