Root parsley ITALIAN GIANT / GIGANTE D´ITALIA

Maximizing Yield: The Professional Choice for Leaf Parsley

The «Italiana Gigantela» variety from the Czech breeding company Semo is a specialized tool for commercial vegetable growers. While classified under the root parsley category, this variety is engineered specifically for its exceptional foliage production, making it a go-to choice for high-intensity leaf harvests.

Practical Implementation in Commercial Farming

• Succession Planting: The key strength of this variety is its rapid regeneration capacity. Once harvested, the plants show vigorous regrowth, allowing growers to maximize their seasonal yields from the same acreage.
• Greenhouse Productivity: «Italiana Gigantela» performs reliably under protected cultivation conditions. It adapts well to greenhouse environments, producing lush, deep-green, and aromatic leaves that meet the stringent quality requirements of modern supermarkets.
• Market Efficiency: The variety's uniformity and high leaf-to-stem ratio simplify post-harvest processing, whether for fresh market sales, bundle packaging, or processing into frozen herb blends.

For optimal results, field management is essential. Due to its vigorous, sprawling habit, this parsley requires adequate spacing to ensure proper airflow and light penetration, which helps prevent disease pressure. A row spacing of at least 20 cm is recommended to allow each plant to reach its full size. By balancing proper irrigation with the correct plant density, producers can ensure that «Italiana Gigantela» delivers consistent quality and significant volume, cementing its position as a reliable asset in any commercial horticultural operation.
