Darnel Livonne

Optimizing Feed Production with «Livonn» Ryegrass

«Livonn», developed by the German company Deutsche Saatveredelung, is engineered for farms that require a high-output, reliable forage solution. This cultivar stands out for its ability to produce dense, high-protein swards, making it a staple for both intensive grazing systems and high-yield hay production.

Field Performance and Management

With plant height ranging from 30 cm in grazed conditions to 100 cm under silage management, «Livonn» offers significant flexibility for farm operations:

• Intensive Grazing: Its resilience to trampling and rapid regrowth cycle ensures continuous feed supply throughout the growing season.
• Haylage Production: When managed with appropriate fertilization, the plant rapidly accumulates biomass, allowing for multiple cuts without sacrificing feed quality.

Why «Livonn» Demands Precision

As a high-performance variety, «Livonn» requires a proactive management approach. It thrives when the following conditions are met:

• Balanced Nutrition: To achieve maximum dry matter yield, timely nitrogen applications are essential, especially following grazing cycles or cutting.
• Water Management: The variety shows optimal growth in well-managed moisture conditions; irrigation is recommended in drought-prone areas to prevent yield gaps.
• Establishment: Consistent seeding rates are vital to prevent weed pressure and maintain the turf density required for high-quality silage.

For modern agricultural enterprises, «Livonn» is an asset that bridges the gap between basic fodder and high-value nutritional intake, directly impacting the economic efficiency of livestock farming.
