Practical Application of Horizon Fenugreek

Developed by the Institute of Fodder of the UAAS, the Horizon variety is a key tool for farms focused on maximizing fodder efficiency. The main advantage of this crop is its rapid growth cycle: the crop is ready for the first cut just 40–50 days after emergence.

Key Roles in Feed Production

• Green Conveyor Optimization: Horizon serves as an ideal catch crop, filling gaps in fodder availability when primary pastures are under-developed or exhausted.
• Rapid Pasture Restoration: Due to its high vigor, the variety establishes quickly, effectively outcompeting weeds and providing high-quality forage early in the season.
• Early Silage Harvest: The short vegetation period allows farmers to harvest before the onset of summer heat, ensuring the crop is collected at its peak nutritional value.

Agronomists favor this variety for its reliability and low-maintenance profile. Horizon responds well to nitrogen applications and rarely requires intensive plant protection measures, as the harvest occurs before the peak pressure of pests and diseases. By integrating this variety into the crop rotation, farms can effectively manage their machinery workload and ensure a consistent supply of succulent feed throughout the season.
