Onion Hi-Keeper F1

Stable Yields with High Keeper F1

When planning a season, the goal is always a hybrid that won't fail during storage and doesn't require constant chemical treatments. High Keeper F1 from Takii Seeds is a reliable workhorse for those who prioritize bulb quality. From a grower's perspective, the first thing you notice is the predictability: a 260–270 day maturity window allows for precise planning of your harvest campaign.

Agronomy and Disease Resistance

The standout feature of this hybrid is its innate resilience. In regions where downy mildew (peronospora) can devastate a field in a week of wet weather, High Keeper F1 holds its ground. This significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which directly improves your bottom line. As a short-day crop, it’s vital to time your planting correctly to achieve that uniform round shape the market demands.

Marketability and Storage

Post-harvest handling is straightforward. The bronze-yellow dry scales fit tightly around the bulb, protecting the crisp, white flesh inside. In practice, this salad onion stores exceptionally well without losing its firmness. Unlike many other varieties, it resists damage during mechanical sorting, which is crucial for reducing post-harvest losses.

• Form: Uniform round bulbs, excellent for commercial packaging.
• Color: Attractive bronze-yellow skin with a clean white interior.
• Resistance: Strong tolerance to leaf diseases.
• Application: Salad variety with a perfect balance of flavor and storage longevity.

If you are looking for a hybrid where Japanese breeding works to minimize risk and maximize marketable yield, High Keeper F1 is a solid investment.
