Yalta

Yalta is a linseed variety (Linum usitatissimum L. var. intermedia Vav et Ell.), characterized by medium maturity and a vegetation period of about 94 days. Flowering begins at medium dates, allowing efficient use under the agro-climatic conditions of the North Caucasus region. The plant stems are of medium length, and the sepals almost lack spotting, indicating good plant quality. The corolla color in the bud stage is blue-violet, turning a rich blue when fully developed, while the white style at the base adds decorative appeal to the flower.

Yalta variety seeds have a dark brown color and a medium pod size. The mass of 1000 seeds is 6.3 grams, and the fat content in the seeds reaches 44.2%, making this variety valuable for obtaining oilseed raw material. Seed shattering resistance is rated at 3.5 points, ensuring yield preservation during harvesting. The average seed yield in the region is 13.1 centners per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety.

During field testing in the region, the Yalta variety demonstrated high resistance to diseases, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses and reducing the need for chemical protective measures. These characteristics make the variety attractive for cultivation in the North Caucasus conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality linseed crop.
