The A-93 flax variety is a mid-season variety bred by hybridization for flax fiber production. The vegetative period from germination to early yellow ripeness ranges from 77 to 92 days. The variety is characterized by lodging resistance of 3.3–5 points, as well as moderate susceptibility to rust and fusarium, ensuring crop stability and fiber quality. The total fiber content in the plant reaches 26.9%, with long fiber yield at 19.3% and relative breaking load at 14.1 gf/tex, indicating high spinning properties of the variety.
A-93 is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatskaya, and West Siberian. Seeds of the variety are supplied with certification materials, confirming their quality and suitability for sowing. Due to its characteristics, the variety is widely used in industrial flax fiber production, ensuring high efficiency and raw material quality.
Moreover, flax seeds, to which the A-93 variety belongs, possess valuable medicinal properties. They contain polyunsaturated fatty acids Omega-3, Omega-6, and Omega-9, amino acids, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. These components provide antioxidant, bactericidal, and immunostimulating effects, contributing to the maintenance of digestive and cardiovascular system health, and exerting a positive effect in oncological diseases and diabetes. Seeds are recommended to be consumed in ground form with liquid in a dosage of 5 to 50 grams per day, however, high doses may cause unpleasant sensations in the liver.
