The Tverskoy flax variety represents a mid-season flax-leaf (Linum usitatissimum L. f. elongata), intended for the production of flax fiber. The plant is of medium height with a medium-length stem; the flowers have a blue-violet corolla, which turns blue upon full development. A distinguishing feature of the variety is the absence or very weak spotting of the sepal, as well as the absence of longitudinal petal folding. Anthers and stamen threads have a bluish tint, which is characteristic of this variety. The capsule is small, without fringe-like false septum. Seeds are brown, and the mass of 1000 seeds is low. The Tverskoy variety was included in the State Register for the North-West region and is characterized by resistance to lodging (4.7 points), shattering (4.4 points), and drought (3.2 points). The vegetative period is 72 days. Yield in this region reaches an average of 30.3 centners of flax straw and 4.1 centners of seeds per hectare. Fiber content in the plant is 27.8%, with the output of long fiber reaching 21.4%. The relative breaking load of the fiber is 15 gcs/teks, indicating good material strength. The Tverskoy variety has a medium degree of resistance to bacterial wilt and Fusarium wilt, as well as above-average resistance to anthracnose. These characteristics make it a reliable choice for cultivation in the North-West region. Due to its agronomic and biological properties, this flax is suitable for the industrial production of high-quality flax fiber, which ensures its demand among agricultural producers.
