TOAST 3

TOAST 3 is a mid-maturing flax species, designed for the production of flax fiber. The plant is characterized by high and medium stem length, medium corolla size, and light brown seeds of medium weight. The vegetation period of the variety varies from 77 to 87 days depending on the growing region. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions of the Volga-Vyatka and Western Siberian regions.

The yield of straw and seeds of the TOAST 3 variety is sufficiently high: in the Volga-Vyatka region it reaches 56-57 centners/hectare for straw and 4.2-6.2 centners/hectare for seeds, while in the Western Siberian region it is about 45-57 centners/hectare for straw and 4.2-6.9 centners/hectare for seeds. The fiber content in the plant ranges from 24.7% to 26.7%, and the output of long fiber reaches 13-21.2%. The relative breaking load of the fiber is within 15.7-16 gf/teks, which indicates the strength and quality of the obtained material.

Flax seeds of the TOAST 3 variety are rich in useful substances, including omega-3 fatty acids, phytoestrogen, soluble fiber, and complete protein. These components contribute to maintaining the health of the heart, blood vessels, brain, and intestines. However, in the presence of hormone-dependent diseases, pregnancy, or digestive problems, the consumption of seeds may be contraindicated. In such cases, it is recommended to use flaxseed oil, which retains the beneficial properties of flax and is a safer option.
