Lucerne of the "Mriya Odessa" variety is a perennial herbaceous plant from the legume family, possessing high cold and drought resistance. This plant is widely used in agriculture due to its ability to enrich soil with organic matter and protect it from water and wind erosion. Lucerne is a valuable feed for animals, providing protein-rich and vitamin-containing green mass, hay, and grass flour. Its leaves contain up to 19-20% protein, as well as vitamins A, C, PP, phosphorus, and calcium, making it indispensable in animal feed.
Lucerne seeds undergo careful cleaning and magnetic processing, ensuring high germination and quality planting material. Thanks to its unique growth vigor and adaptability, lucerne successfully grows on various soil types, including problematic ones, without the need for pesticides or additional irrigation. It withstands frost and drought, enabling stable yields of green mass and hay, reaching up to 300 centners per hectare under optimal conditions.
In addition to its feeding purpose, lucerne is an effective green manure and valuable honey plant. From one hectare, up to 200-250 kg of high-quality lucerne honey can be harvested, which is characterized by transparency and golden-yellow hue. In folk medicine, lucerne is used as a calming agent. Growing lucerne improves soil fertility and serves as an excellent predecessor for most agricultural crops, except legumes.
