The Snieguruk variety of oilseed flax is a wintering diploid variety developed using original technology of polyploid genome recombination. It is characterized by high frost resistance and winter hardiness, capable of withstanding negative temperatures down to -20-23 °C, which allows for successful cultivation in autumn terms in the southern and central regions of the European part of Russia. Snieguruk is intended for obtaining both oilseed raw material and fiber, making it versatile in agricultural applications.

This variety is characterized by early maturity and resistance to shortened early spring day lengths. It is recommended to sow it in autumn, from late September to mid-October, which ensures the formation of plants 5–10 cm high by the onset of winter. The variety is also suitable for spring sowing. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 6.2 g, oil content in seeds reaches 41.3-43%, which ensures high oiliness. Plant height reaches approximately 78 cm, and seed yield with autumn sowing is about 22.7-24 c/ha.

Snieguruk possesses high resistance to shattering, lodging, and drought, and also demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as bacterial blight, anthracnose, polysporosis, and fusariosis. The yield of the variety exceeds the indicators of standard varieties, which is confirmed by test results, where the average yield for 2018-2019 was 2.27 t/ha. Due to its characteristics and adaptation to various climatic conditions, the Snieguruk variety is a promising choice for growing oilseed flax in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, and Lower Volga regions.
