Tulip Barramansa

Stability and predictability in flower production

When working with the 'Barramansa' Triumph tulip variety, agronomists primarily value its ease of management. It is a case where the tulip does not create unnecessary complications during forcing or open-field cultivation. Its medium stem height makes it versatile, suitable for both cutting and landscaping without the need for additional support—the peduncle is robust and maintains its shape perfectly.

Phytosanitary reliability

The main argument for choosing 'Barramansa' is its high resistance to a complex of pathogens. In greenhouse conditions or high-density open-field planting, this variety demonstrates remarkable resilience against Fusarium and Verticillium wilts. In practice, this means significantly reduced fungicide costs and minimal crop losses. Cladosporium and tomato mosaic virus also tend to bypass this variety, which greatly simplifies the overall plant protection schedule.

Visual characteristics and logistics

The red and white petal coloration gives the bud a classic, recognizable aesthetic that is always in high demand at the retail level. Its mid-season flowering period allows for precise planning of shipments and seamless integration of 'Barramansa' into a general production cycle. The plant is low-maintenance in storage: dense petals handle transportation well, retaining their marketability even over long distances. It is a reliable tool for those who prioritize proven plant material with high, predictable yields.
