The plant forms a powerful rosette of leaves that are wide in shape and have a dense structure. The leaves have a rich red-burgundy hue with white veins, giving the lettuce a decorative and attractive appearance. Heads are compact, round, and dense, with a single specimen weighing between 175 and 450 grams. The plant reaches a height of about 20 cm, while the rosette diameter is up to 35 cm.
This variety is valued for its cold hardiness and even head maturation, which ensures a synchronized harvest. Rubi lettuce boasts good yield—about 1.9 kg per square meter, making it cost-effective to grow. Additionally, it has an extended shelf life, allowing freshness to be preserved for up to one month after harvest. The taste is characterized by a refreshing flavor with a light spicy bitterness, making it an excellent ingredient for preparing various salads and cold appetizers.
