Lettuce MELOSA

Crop Stability with «Melosa»

When managing greenhouse or field lettuce production, disease protection is often the primary concern. The «Melosa» hybrid from Nunhems is a reliable workhorse for growers who prioritize plant health under humid conditions. The core value of this Dutch-bred variety isn't just its vibrant green color; it’s the genetic 'armor' that saves labor and resources during the season.

Field Performance and Resistance

In real-world conditions, «Melosa» demonstrates excellent resilience against the most common leaf culture threats. Resistance to fusarium wilt is a critical parameter for intensive crop rotation systems, as it minimizes the risk of total loss to soil-borne pathogens. Furthermore, when combined with standard preventive measures against powdery mildew, «Melosa» performs significantly more consistently than most market alternatives.

Operational Advantages

• Uniformity: Harvesting is streamlined as the crop grows consistently, reducing the need for post-harvest grading and sorting.
• Leaf Quality: The rich green color persists even during temperature fluctuations, and the leaf structure maintains its integrity during transport, ensuring high marketability.
• Resource Efficiency: The hybrid adapts well to various nutrient regimes without requiring excessive fertilizer loads, which helps optimize overall production costs.

For growers focusing on a predictable output and efficient crop management, this salad variety from Nunhems offers the reliability expected from top-tier Dutch genetics. It is a solid choice for those who value performance over trial and error.
