Lettuce EVELINA

Evelina salad is an early-maturing and high-yield variety of head lettuce, characterized by a short vegetative period — approximately 50-70 days from mass emergence to technical maturity, depending on growing conditions. This variety forms large, loose heads weighing from 180 to 400 grams, with bright green, slightly wrinkled leaves that have a delicate taste. The heads are round in shape and not dense, making the salad particularly appealing to consumers who value high taste qualities.

Evelina is resistant to downy mildew and tolerates high temperatures well, ensuring a long period of commercial use and reducing the risk of bolting. The variety is recommended for cultivation both in open ground and under film, allowing for harvest in spring, early summer, and autumn. For sowing, both direct sowing in the ground and seedling methods can be used. Seeds are sown to a depth of 0.5-2 cm at soil temperatures from +3-4°C; the optimal temperature for growth is +15-20°C.

For successful cultivation of Evelina salad, it is important to observe the recommended planting density — 15-20 plants per square meter, and to timely thin out, as the variety is sensitive to overcrowding. It develops best on light, fertile soils. Due to its characteristics and unpretentiousness in care, Evelina salad is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers seeking an early and quality harvest.
