Lettuce Equator

Growing the Ekvator Lettuce Variety: A Practical Review

For those managing vegetable production, the choice of a late-maturing lettuce variety like Ekvator by Ooo Global Sids represents a strategic decision to ensure consistent yields. Unlike early varieties that tend to bolt rapidly when temperatures rise, Ekvator maintains a stable, compact rosette formation, providing a harvest window that is crucial for farm operations.

Field Performance and Handling

The core advantage for the grower is the marketability of the product. The average weight of the rosette is optimal for both wholesale and retail supply chains. The plant architecture is robust, and the density of the leaves minimizes damage during transport and handling.

• Reliability: High tolerance to environmental stress, effectively reducing premature stem elongation.
• Logistics: The dense rosette structure ensures the product arrives at the market in premium condition.
• Maintenance Tips: Success with Ekvator relies on moisture consistency during the heading stage. Avoiding water stress prevents tip burn, which is common in late-maturing varieties.

The original seed stock from Global Sids consistently delivers high uniformity. For optimal results, ensure your soil is well-aerated; on heavy clay soils, incorporating organic matter will assist the root system in achieving the potential mass of the plant. If the agrotechnical requirements are met, Ekvator allows for predictable, mechanized or manual harvesting, making it a reliable choice for commercial growers seeking professional-grade output.
