The Asaf lettuce is an early-maturing leaf type of Batavia developed by the breeding company Hazera. This variety is distinguished by high resistance to fusarium, edge burns, and bolting, which ensures crop stability and product quality. Thanks to its characteristics, Asaf lettuce is ideal for processing as well as for fresh marketing.
The plant is planted in open ground from mid-March to September and can also be grown in greenhouses or by hydroponic method. The variety demonstrates high yield when agricultural technology requirements are met, including regular watering, loosening, weeding, and fertilization. Fast technical maturity — about 30 days — allows obtaining up to four harvests per season, making it attractive to farmers.
The lettuce forms a high rosette with curly leaves of medium size light green color, the mass of which reaches up to 500 grams. Leaves differ in delicate, juicy and sweet taste without bitterness. Greens are consumed exclusively in fresh form, using for decoration of dishes and preparing salads. Due to high content of microelements and fast digestibility, Asaf lettuce is recommended for inclusion in the diet for various diseases.
