Orzhitsia 237 MV is a medium-early simple modified hybrid corn, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2010. The hybrid belongs to the FAO group 230-240 and is intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie. It is characterized by high resistance to major diseases and tolerance to extreme temperatures, ensuring stable yields under various conditions.
The plant is tall, reaching a height of 250-260 cm, non-branching, and exhibits high resistance to lodging and stem breakage. The ear, 20-21 cm long, contains 18 rows of kernels, with 34-36 kernels per row and a red cob. The kernels are orange-red, flinty-toothed, with a 1000-kernel weight of approximately 280 g. The hybrid is distinguished by low grain moisture at harvest and high regenerative capacity, contributing to high yields.
Orzhitsia 237 MV is recommended for grain use. Its potential grain yield reaches 11-12 t/ha. The recommended planting density varies depending on the cultivation zone: in the steppe — 50-55 thousand plants per hectare, in the forest-steppe — 75-80 thousand/ha, in Polesie — 80-85 thousand/ha. Due to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to pests and diseases, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming for stable and high corn yields.
