Description Pleven
Pleven hybrid is a medium-early trihybrid corn variety of French origin, registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2015. It features high plant stature — plant height reaches approximately 285–300 cm, with the ear positioned at about one meter. The ear contains 16–18 rows of kernels, each row having 32–38 cream-colored, toothed kernels. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 230 to 300 grams, indicating the hybrid's large kernel size.

Pleven demonstrates stable and high yields across various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. Yield potential reaches 11.5–13 tons per hectare, equivalent to 115–130 centners per hectare. The hybrid is resistant to drought, lodging, diseases, and pests, receiving high ratings for these traits — from 7–8 to 9 points. Thanks to its branched root system and lateral shoots, corn Pleven does not require high rainfall to form a stable yield.

Recommended planting density varies depending on the cultivation zone: 75–80 thousand plants per hectare in Polissia, 70–75 thousand in Forest-Steppe, and 65–70 thousand in Steppe. The hybrid is suitable for grain production and can be used for early field clearance for winter crops or preparation for wintering. Its high cold tolerance and adaptability make Pleven a versatile choice for various agronomic conditions.
