Description Diana
DIANA is a middle-Russian cultivar of industrial hemp, developed in 1994 by a research team led by Gennady Stepanov at the Chuvash State Agrarian University. This long-stemmed, green-stalked, monoecious cultivar is characterized by early maturation and low THC content – not exceeding 0.04%. The vegetative period is 107 days, and the average plant height reaches 187 cm. Yield per stem reaches 80.4 centners per hectare, seeds – 11.2 centners, and fibers – 21.6 centners per hectare. Fiber output is 26.7%, of which long fibers account for 19.4%; meanwhile, the weight of 1000 seeds is 15.2 grams, and fiber strength reaches 27.3 kgf. The DIANA cultivar is intended for dual-purpose use, which allows for effective application both for obtaining quality fiber and for seed collection. Thanks to high yield and good seed quality, this cultivar is widely used in agriculture for oil production and other products. DIANA hemp is adapted to various climatic conditions and suitable for cultivation on diverse soil types, making it a versatile crop for agronomy. DIANA is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including northern and central areas, which confirms its resilience and adaptability. The cultivar is registered and allowed for use in several regions of the country, which attests to its reliability and effectiveness in agricultural production. Thanks to its characteristics, the DIANA cultivar is a promising choice for farmers interested in obtaining high-quality hemp fiber and seeds.
