Description GENTUS
GENTUS is a mid-season hybrid variety of hemp (Cannabis sativa L. ssp. sativa) intended for dual-purpose use, meaning it is used to produce both fibers and seeds. The vegetative period to technical maturity is about 97-98 days, and to full seed maturation — from 115 to 128 days. Plants are characterized by a long green stem with a height of 200 to 247 cm and a diameter of about 7 mm, with 9 internodes. Leaves are dark green, and the weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 16 to 21.3 g, indicating a high seed mass of the variety. THC content in plants is low — 0.04-0.06%, which meets the requirements for technical hemp.

The yield of the GENTUS variety is quite high: average stem yield reaches 80-100 c/ha, and in state trials — up to 100 c/ha. Fiber content in stems is about 27.8-29.5%, while long fiber output reaches 17-23.7%. Tensile strength of the fiber is within the range of 27.2-31.7 kgf, indicating the strength and quality of the fiber. Seed yield ranges from 8 to 16.5 c/ha, and oil content in seeds is 27-31.5%, making the variety attractive for producing oily raw materials. GENTUS has good resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as very weak infection by grey mold, which increases the reliability of the harvest.

The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including northern, central, Ural, and Siberian zones, which testifies to its adaptability to different climatic conditions. Due to high yield and quality characteristics of fibers and seeds, GENTUS is suitable for mechanized harvesting and efficient industrial use. This variety is a result of the work of the Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the North-East named after N.V. Rudnitsky and has stable indicators, making it in demand among agricultural producers focused on comprehensive use of hemp.
