Leaves are medium-sized, open, green with slight leaf edge waviness, and the flower is very large and white. Tubers are oval in shape with medium-depth eyes, covered with smooth yellow skin, and the flesh is light-yellow. Marketable tuber mass varies from 88 to 152 grams, starch content ranges from 13.9 to 17%, corresponding to culinary type BC. Taste of tubers is rated as good and excellent.
The market yield of this variety is 163–298 centners per hectare, comparable to standards such as Bryansk Novinka, Petersburgskiy, and Golubizna. Marketability reaches 83–97%, and storability is 85%, indicating good tuber preservation during storage. The variety is resistant to mechanical damage, facilitating transportation and storage.
Darkovichsky exhibits high resistance to potato cancer pathogen and is weakly affected by golden potato cyst nematode. According to data from the VNIIFitopatologiya, the variety is moderately susceptible to phytophthora on both foliage and tubers. These characteristics make Darkovichsky a reliable choice for cultivation in areas where these diseases are prevalent, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
