Description Satina
The Satina potato variety is a mid-early table variety of German selection, characterized by high yield and large oval tubers weighing 90 to 130 grams. The maturation period is 65-80 days, allowing for a stable harvest in relatively short time. Tubers have light-yellow skin and yellow flesh with starch content of 12.6-14.1%, providing medium mashability and excellent taste. During boiling, the flesh may slightly darken, which does not affect the dish quality. The culinary type BC makes this variety universal for various table purposes.

Satina is distinguished by high resistance to mechanical damage and drought, which helps preserve the harvest during transportation and storage. The variety is also resistant to several diseases, including late blight, blue spots, rust, leaf curl virus, and Rhizoctonia, reducing the need for intensive chemical treatments. The tuber storage capacity is 97%, allowing long-term storage without loss of commercial and taste qualities.

For planting, it is recommended to follow the optimal scheme: 24-26 cm between tubers, 75 cm between rows, and planting depth of 12-14 cm. Each plant forms 8 to 13 tubers, ensuring high yield — 420 centners and more per hectare. Satina seeds do not require pre-planting preparation, simplifying agronomy and making this variety attractive for cultivation both on industrial scales and on home plots. The developer of the variety is the German company Solana.
