KINGSMEN

Kingsmen potato is a mid-season table variety characterized by high commercial yield and resistance to a range of diseases. The plant is of medium height with a semi-erect to spreading stem type, featuring large light-green leaves with medium-sized veins and weak or absent anthocyanic pigmentation on the inner side of the veins. Tubers are oval-round in shape, with very small to small eyes, light beige skin, and yellow flesh. The average weight of commercial tubers is about 113 grams, with starch content reaching 14.4%, ensuring good taste and high commercial value — approximately 82%.

Yield varies from 185 to 400 centners per hectare, with maximum yields potentially reaching 458 centners per hectare under optimal growing conditions. Tubers exhibit high storability — around 95% — allowing them to maintain quality for extended periods after harvest. Kingsmen is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, and displays moderate resistance to crinkle and streak mosaic, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions.

The variety was developed by Cygnet Potato Breeders LTD and approved for use since 2020. Thanks to its excellent agronomic traits and attractive tuber appearance, Kingsmen has quickly gained popularity among producers and consumers. This potato is suitable for a wide range of table uses, combining high yield, disease resistance, and good flavor.
