Jaerla

The potato variety Jaerla (Jaerla) is an early-maturing table variety developed by the Dutch company HZPC Holland B.V. and registered in 1998. The vegetation period is 66-85 days, allowing for early harvest. Plants are bushy, medium height, with large, matte leaves and medium venation. Flowers are white, buds open early. The variety is adapted to various soil types and exhibits drought tolerance, expanding its cultivation potential in different climatic conditions. Jaerla tubers are large, round-oval or oval, with smooth yellow skin and shallow eyes. The flesh is light yellow, dense, and does not break down, making it versatile for various cooking methods: boiling, frying, and baking. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 84 to 312 grams, and starch content is within 11.9-18.0%, meeting standards. Flavor qualities are rated as good to excellent, and tuber storability is high, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. Jaerla is distinguished by high yield and disease resistance. Marketable yield reaches 216-667 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standard varieties. The potato is resistant to common scab, late blight, and viral diseases, with minimal leaf and tuber infection by phytophthora. High fiber content in the flesh makes this variety beneficial when consumed in moderation, contributing to health maintenance. Thus, Jaerla combines high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and excellent flavor qualities.
