Flamingo

The medium-late maturing variety of cabbage 'Flamingo' features a robust plant and forms large, round heads weighing from 1.5 to 2.3 kg. The surface of the heads is bumpy, finely textured, white in color, and the leaves cover the stem during head formation, protecting it from direct sunlight. From transplanting to technical maturity, it takes 120-130 days, allowing for planning harvest dates according to the optimal growth phase of the heads.

The 'Flamingo' variety is characterized by high cold tolerance and positively responds to watering, which contributes to stable yields and product quality. Yield ranges from 40 to 55 tons per hectare, and the cabbage exhibits high transportability and marketability. Due to these qualities, the variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for freezing and canning.

Cabbage can be grown both by seedling and direct seeding methods, with a planting density of 25-35 thousand plants per hectare. Harvesting is recommended to begin when heads are still in the active growth phase, which requires a short harvesting window. Cabbage can be stored for 4-6 weeks; during harvest, leaves are not removed, but are trimmed after storage at head level, which helps preserve freshness and product quality.
