A new type of iris 'Princess UkoKa', created by Professor Zoya Dolganova in Siberia, features an exquisite flower with white petals adorned with purple-lilac veins. These delicate lines lend it elegance and make each bud unique.
Special attention is drawn to the yellow-green signals on the petals, which serve as a guide for bumblebees. Their bright contrast resembles oblique female eyes, which became the source of inspiration for choosing the variety name. Such ornamentation is not only aesthetically appealing but also functional, aiding in attracting pollinators.
The variety was named after the legendary Princess UkoKa, who lived on the high-altitude plateau of Altai during the times of Herodotus. This symbolizes the plant's connection to the region's rich history and underscores its uniqueness as a product of northern lands.
