Ipomoea 'Blue Velvet' – an annual vine capable of growing up to 300 cm in length and 40–50 cm in width. Leaves are dark green and pointed, while flowers are large, funnel-shaped, 7–10 cm in diameter, with a bright blue hue and white gradients on the petals. The plant attracts attention with its high decorative value and unpretentiousness, making it perfect for greening gardens, flowerbeds, gazebos, walls, fences, arches, and pergolas.
For successful cultivation, choose a well-lit location with moderately fertile, moist soil for Ipomoea. Sow seeds in open ground in early May (or in clusters of 2–3 seeds); after seedlings emerge, you can start fertilizing. The plant grows quickly and begins flowering in June, continuing its vibrant bloom until mid-October. Ipomoea prefers sunny spots, cannot withstand frosts, and requires moderate watering.
Ipomoea is convenient to use for vertical greening: tie stems to desired surfaces to create a living fence or decorative element in containers, balcony boxes, and terraces. Thanks to abundant flowering from June to October, it will become a bright accent for any garden or urban courtyard.
