Hyacinth "Arentine Arendsen" – a historical variety of the eastern hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis), created by D. Bakker in 1875 and registered in the same year. The plant reaches a height of up to 20 cm, while the flower spikes are about 17–19 cm long. The flowers are large, white with a slight creamy tint, arranged in a loose cylindrical inflorescence approximately 10 cm high. The leaves are dark green, dense, and glossy.
"Arentine Arendsen" is distinguished by its high frost resistance: suitable for USDA hardiness zones 4a (from -31.7 °C to -34.4 °C) and 9a (from -3.9 °C to -6.7 °C). Thanks to this, the variety can be grown in a wide range of temperatures, from temperate to cold regions.
This hyacinth is valued for its pure white color and elegant inflorescence shape. It is perfect for decorative greening of garden beds, flower beds, and containers, as well as as an element of a bouquet composition due to its durability in external conditions.
