Description
The Hyacinth YAN BOS is a perennial garden variety from the Eastern group of large-flowered types, captivating attention with bright fuscia-red flowers up to 3 cm in diameter and long glossy leaves. The plant reaches a height of 20 to 30 cm, while bell-shaped inflorescences form a small rosette, creating an eye-catching accent in any composition.
Blooming begins in early spring – in March – and lasts for about 20 days. The scent is sweet and persists even after the buds dry, making the hyacinth ideal for both open ground and growing in pots, vases, or containers. For planting, use nutritious, well-drained soil; in heavy soil, you can mix it with sand or peat.
Bulbs are planted in autumn – from September to December – at a depth of 5–18 cm depending on their size (small bulbs – 5–10 cm, large ones – 15–18 cm) and spaced 10–15 cm apart. After flowering, the leaves are left to nourish the bulb; in early summer, the bulbs are dug up, dried, and stored in a dry room until the next season. The plant is resistant to diseases and pests with proper agronomy and can withstand moderate frost (zones 3–4).
