Alt is a pelletized hop with high alpha acid content, used in brewing as a base bitterness. This variety is early-maturing and high-oil, with a composition of essential oils and bitter compounds similar to the well-known German variety Magnum, popular among brewers worldwide. Due to its high alpha acid content, Alt hop is ideal for early addition during wort boiling, providing the necessary bitterness for beer.

The pelletized form of Alt hop is obtained by drying and grinding cones, followed by pressing through a special mold. The pellets contain natural resins, allowing them to maintain their form without chemical binders. This form is more compact compared to whole leaf hop, facilitating storage and transportation. Under hermetically sealed vacuum packaging, pellets retain their valuable properties and characteristics for up to three years.

The aroma of Alt hop cones features hop notes with a dominant blackcurrant tone and a spicy character, which manifests both in bitterness and aroma.
