Hippeastrum Krasny Luch

Distinctive subtropical breeding

The Hippeastrum cultivar "Krasny LUCH" (Red Ray) represents the high-end selection work of the Federal Research Centre of the Subtropical Scientific Centre of the RAS. Unlike mass-market hybrids designed for rapid, one-off blooming, this cultivar is valued for its longevity and robust genetic structure. Its defining feature is the high-density inflorescence, capable of producing 4-6 large flowers on a single stalk, which significantly elevates it above the standard supermarket varieties.

Key Specifications

• Bloom density: produces 4-6 flowers per scape, creating a dense, bouquet-like appearance.
• Indoor optimization: specifically adapted to home environments, demonstrating superior durability compared to greenhouse-reliant imports.
• Regional resilience: developed in a subtropical research environment, the plant possesses a naturally strong immune system.

Why choose this variety?

"Krasny LUCH" is the optimal choice for enthusiasts who prioritize reliability over fleeting aesthetics. While many imported bulbs dwindle after a single season, this cultivar consistently resets flower buds provided a brief dormancy period is observed. The only challenge lies in its soil moisture sensitivity—as with many high-performing bulbs, excess water during the winter rest can be detrimental. However, for those who manage the drainage effectively, it offers a level of floral abundance that is rarely matched in the hobbyist class.
