Pre-emergence herbicide for use on corn and sunflower crops against annual grasses and broadleaf weeds
Active ingredient Acetochlor, 900 g/l
Form of preparation Emulsion concentrate
Application spectrum Sunflower, corn, soybean
Main advantages
Ensures field cleanliness from weeds from the very beginning of vegetation, which is very important for corn, considering its growth characteristics
Preserves soil moisture and surface layer structure due to reduced number of mechanical tillages
Does not affect subsequent crops in crop rotation
Essential under adverse weather conditions that make post-emergence treatment impossible
«Chance» has advantages over post-emergence herbicides, which are used when weeds have already emerged and have taken a significant portion of nutrients and moisture from the soil.
The effectiveness of the product depends on soil preparation quality. The soil should be carefully leveled and processed to a fine crumbly state. The product is applied before crop emergence. In dry conditions, the product is applied under harrowing or pre-sowing cultivation to a depth of up to 5 cm. Application rate depends on soil type, its mechanical composition and humus content. The heavier the mechanical composition and the higher the humus content, the higher the application rate of the product.
Under cool weather and high soil moisture, the product may suppress sunflower seedlings. Therefore, to avoid phytotoxicity, under such weather conditions, it should be applied in tank mixtures: «Chance» 1 — 1,5 l/ha + «Baypass» 1,5 — 2,0 l/ha.
Time for personnel to return to treated areas after mechanized operations — 3 days; manual operations — 7 days.
Maximum number of applications — 1.
Mode of action
The active ingredient acetochlor of the soil herbicide «Chance» is characterized by high herbicidal activity against annual grasses and some broadleaf weeds. Acetochlor acts on germinating weeds, penetrates into the stem and root tissues, actively inhibits cell growth and division by disrupting protein and lipid metabolism. The disruption of plant metabolism caused by acetochlor is an irreversible process. As a result, seedlings stop growing and die.
Spectrum of activity
Annual grass weeds: grey and green foxtail, multicolored crabgrass.
Annual broadleaf weeds: prostrate knotweed, shepherd's purse, white dead-nettle, common henbane, small-flowered galingale, leafless daisy, creeping bistort, black nightshade, garden purslane, medium starwort.
Perennial weeds: field bindweed, gumweed.
Annual winter weeds: oat.
Compatibility with other products
In tank mixtures, the herbicide is compatible with most pesticides. However, compatibility must be checked in each specific case.
WHO classification: III class (moderately hazardous).
