The technical principle of this soil herbicide involves inhibiting protein synthesis and nucleic acid production in the meristematic tissues of germinating weeds. This inhibition occurs at the seed germination stage: the active ingredient penetrates the plant via the coleoptile (in grasses) or the hypocotyl and roots (in broad-leaved weeds), effectively arresting cell division before the weeds emerge through the soil surface.
