The Chance E.C. (Shans k.e.) preparation is based on acetochlor (900 g/l). This is a systemic soil-applied herbicide of the chloroacetanilide group that inhibits protein and nucleic acid synthesis in weed seedlings. Its primary function is to halt weed development before germination or during the "white thread" stage.

Technological Composition Features

• Formulation: The emulsion concentrate allows the active ingredient to distribute evenly within the soil solution, creating a stable "herbicide screen."
• Selectivity: The product selectively targets annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds without suppressing the crop (soybeans, corn, sunflowers) when applied at recommended rates.
• Systemicity: Unlike contact herbicides, acetochlor enters the plant through the coleoptile (in grasses) and the hypocotyl (in broad-leaved plants), ensuring high performance even if the soil surface dries out, provided there is moisture in the seed germination zone.

Chance E.C. is applied once as a pre-emergence herbicide. The dosage rate ranges from 1.5 to 3 L/ha, depending on soil texture and weed infestation levels. Soils with high humus content and heavy mechanical composition require the higher end of the dose, while lighter soils require the minimum.

The critical aspect of using this plant protection product is proper field preparation. The soil should be finely granulated, free of large clods that reduce the coverage of the "screen."
