General information about the preparation:
Selective pre-emergent soil herbicide.
Mechanism of action of the preparation:
The active ingredient of the preparation Base exhibits high herbicidal activity against annual grasses and some dicotyledonous weeds. After application, the herbicide Base remains in the topsoil layer and acts on germinating weeds, penetrating into stem and root tissues, actively inhibiting cell growth and division, and disrupting protein and lipid metabolism. The disruption of metabolic processes in weeds caused by the preparation is an irreversible process, resulting in the cessation of growth and death of seedlings. When applied according to the technology, the herbicide Base ensures the absence of weeds for 6-8 weeks after application. No resistance to the preparation has been observed.
At optimal doses, the preparation provides reliable control of such weeds as: chickweed (varieties), ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), common crabgrass, common hemp, bloody red clover, garden purslane, dock (varieties), common cocklebur (varieties), black nightshade, common starwort, millet, white deadnettle, etc.
General recommendations for application of the preparation:
The following factors affect the effectiveness of the herbicide Base:
Humus content in the soil. The dosage of the preparation should be increased when the humus content in the soil increases.
Soil structure. On heavy-textured soils, the dosage of the preparation should be increased, while on light-textured soils, it should be decreased.
Soil moisture content. The herbicidal activity of the preparation Base is manifested only in the presence of moisture in the soil. In dry conditions, mechanical incorporation of the preparation into the soil to a shallow depth is mandatory.
The preparation does not affect weeds that have already germinated.
The preparation is applied to the soil surface. The soil should be sufficiently warm, moist, and crumbly. Large hard clods increase the absorption area and reduce the effectiveness of the preparation. Optimal conditions — rainfall or irrigation after spraying (10-15 mm).
In dry regions, the herbicide must be incorporated into the soil with a cultivator or harrow to a depth of 3–5 cm.
The best method of application is immediately after sowing, before crop emergence, under harrowing. Without incorporation, the herbicide Base is applied when there is a high probability of rainfall.
Preparation of the working solution of the preparation:
The water for preparing the working solution must be clean. A large amount of foreign particles, silt, or clay in the water can significantly affect the effectiveness of the herbicide. When using hard water, it is recommended to use reduced concentrations of the working solution and increased doses of the preparation.
The working solution is prepared immediately before application: measure the required amount of preparation for one tank filling, fill the tank halfway with water, then turn on the mixer. Then pour the required amount of preparation into the sprayer and, after 15-20 minutes, add water to the full volume.
Attention! The mixer must be continuously running.
Advantages of using the herbicide Base c.e.:
Effectively protects sunflower, corn, and soybean crops from weeds that cannot be eliminated solely by mechanical cultivation.
Ensures weed-free field from the very beginning of vegetation, which is especially important during the early development stage of crops.
The herbicide Base is indispensable under adverse weather conditions that make post-emergence treatment impossible.
Has advantages over post-emergence herbicides, which are used when weeds have already emerged and have taken a significant portion of nutrients and moisture from the soil.
Application of the herbicide reduces the number of mechanical soil treatments, thereby conserving soil moisture and structure of the fertile layer.
Breaks down in the soil within the growing season and does not affect other crops in the following season.
Low toxicity to animals, birds, fish.
