The hazelnut variety Paramonivskyi is the result of breeding work conducted at the Transnistrian Experimental Station for Horticulture in Ukraine. This variety is distinguished by high, stable yield and good adaptation to the country's climatic conditions, thanks to its high frost resistance and resistance to diseases such as marsone. The tree is vigorous, forms a large rounded crown, and reaches a height of up to 6 meters, making it suitable for both home gardens and commercial plantings.
The fruits of the Paramonivskyi variety have medium size, weighing between 10 to 14 grams, with an elongated-oval or round shape. The shell is thin and easily splits, facilitating the removal of the light kernel, which constitutes about half the weight of the nut. The kernel is distinguished by high flavor and nutritional value, making this variety popular among consumers. The fruits ripen at the end or middle of September, allowing for timely harvest.
The variety prefers neutral soils with moderate acidity and moisture, which promotes good growth and fruiting. The tree begins fruiting as early as the 2nd–3rd year after planting, with maximum yield reached by the 7th–8th year, averaging 9 to 10.5 kilograms per tree. Due to its characteristics and resistance, the hazelnut variety Paramonivskyi is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers seeking a high-quality and stable yield.
